Upload one clear photo only. Turn slightly to one side and look slightly downward so your forehead, temples, hairline area and top scalp are clearly visible. Match the example angle before uploading.
This is a visualization of one possible natural SMP direction. Justin can review whether the placement and density make sense for your actual treatment.
AI visualization only. Actual treatment and healed results vary. The final design is created with your artist.

An SMP simulator is a photo-based visualization tool that helps you see how a scalp micropigmentation hairline could frame your own face before treatment. Instead of comparing yourself with someone else’s before-and-after photo, you upload your own front-facing image and receive a personalized AI SMP preview and digital mockup on your own scalp.
Our free AI SMP simulator is an SMP AI tool designed for the shaved-look treatment style: a conservative, natural hairline with subtle follicle-like pigment impressions rather than generated hair strands. The preview can help you discuss your goals during a consultation. It cannot predict an exact healed result.
Upload one clear, well-lit front photo. The system securely re-encodes the image, removes embedded metadata, and generates one high-resolution SMP concept based on your face, scalp and natural proportions.
If you like the direction, you can send the preview to lead artist Justin Taibi for a professional review before deciding whether to book.
The preview can help you judge the overall hairline height, recession, facial framing and the visual balance of a shaved SMP look. It is especially useful if you have trouble picturing how a new hairline would change your appearance.
For treatment information, see our natural hairline SMP guide and our NYC scalp micropigmentation page.
A good AI preview can be very useful for visualizing direction, but it is not a treatment guarantee. Real SMP is placed into skin, heals over time, and is affected by pigment selection, skin tone, scalp condition, impression size, depth, spacing, aftercare and the number of sessions.
That is why we treat the simulator as a planning tool. The final hairline, density and pigment are determined with the artist after reviewing your actual scalp. If you want to understand the real treatment process and pricing, see our SMP cost guide.
Most hairstyle filters try to add visible hair. SMP is different: the treatment recreates the appearance of closely shaved follicles with pigment impressions in the scalp. Our visualizer is therefore prompted to simulate a shaved-follicle effect, preserve your face and head shape, and avoid fake hair growth, harsh straight edges, excessive darkness and the “helmet” look.
The production pipeline generates a 4K result and keeps the preview tied to the same person, pose and lighting as closely as the model allows. The current version intentionally focuses on a natural, conservative hairline rather than offering dozens of gimmicky styles.
An AI mockup can help you decide whether the general direction feels right. A real healed result is the proof of an artist’s technique. When evaluating any SMP provider, look at healed work under normal lighting and pay attention to impression size, spacing, hairline softness, temple blending and whether the pigment still looks natural after healing.
You can use this simulator to explore the concept, then compare the direction against our real treatment work and discuss what is realistically achievable during a consultation. For sharper design preferences, you can also review our sharp hairline SMP examples.
Yes. The current natural-hairline preview is free to use. You upload one clear front-facing photo and receive one personalized AI scalp micropigmentation concept.
No. It is designed to simulate the appearance of scalp micropigmentation using tiny pigment impressions that resemble shaved follicles. It does not generate longer hair or a hair transplant result.
The current public version focuses on a soft, natural and age-appropriate hairline. If you want a sharper, more receded or otherwise customized design, request Justin’s review so the direction can be discussed professionally.
Upload takes about a minute for most users. The AI render itself generally takes another minute or two depending on processing load and image size.
Your website upload is re-encoded to remove embedded metadata, stored outside the public webroot and scheduled for automatic deletion. It is used to create your preview and is not published or used for marketing without separate permission.
Yes, it can show a before photo beside an AI-generated SMP preview for planning, but it is not a treatment guarantee. Final placement, density, pigment and suitability are determined with the artist, and healed results vary between people.
Use the “Have Justin Review My Preview” option or book a free consultation. We can review your scalp, goals and the mockup and explain what is realistic before you commit to treatment.
If the simulator gives you a direction you like, the next step is an artist review. There is no obligation to book treatment just because you created a mockup.
